Looking to buy a 323, but some issues.....
hey guys
new to the forum! I did a search but didn't seem to find what I was looking for...
I'm looking at buying an '87 323 hatchback SE poopy automatic with pretty low miles. Of course an elderly lady owned it, & it has been sitting in a garage for about 2 yrs. I checked the oil & fired it up, & it has a definite lifter ticking in it. Not like a loud rod knock, but a pretty substantial ticking.I left it idle for about 15 minutes but it didn't go away. I figure its from sitting, but wondering if it would go away with marvel mystery oil & an oil change like another guy mentioned on here, or if worst case how hard is it to adjust or change lifters?
This will affect what I offer them for it naturally; is this somewhat typical from sitting?? thanks!!
