Took my 2001 Mazda Protege to a chain business mechanic to get a NY State inspection. They failed it because they said the Right Front Link Pin and the Left Rear Link Pins are bad.

I don't trust these kinds of places, just wanted the inspection. After searching online I couldn't find out what a link pin is, I'm curious if they are using incorrect terminology (either because they don't know what they are talking about or because they want to be ambiguous on purpose).

Anyone know what a link pin actually is? I'm wondering if they are meaning some kind of sway bar or something. It is pouring rain outside so I can't get under there to look around, but I thought advice on this forum would be helpful. Thanks for your input.
