Default Issue with HORN

A couple of weeks ago I was having to drive through some very wet/muddy roads. I noticed the next day that my horn is honking at less than 50% loudness. Any clue where to begin? Where to locate horn exactly to see if full of mud?

Horn locate behind the front driver side plastic wheel well. You can access it underneath the small 8 by 13 bottom just cut your wheels to the far right and undo the screws and plastic tabs. Most likely moisture and corrosion would cut down the current flow. Check the how to section on wimpy horn upgrade or youtube.

The OE horn is really wimpy. If on a budget, Highway Blasters (more American sounding) are a good alternative. If a little more to spend, get the Hellas for a more European sounds and they are LOUD!! Adding in a separate relay is a good idea also, though not entirely necessary if you use the horn in a "normal" manner (e.g. NOT like a NYC cab driver. LOL)
That said, and for anyone reading this, the Mazda Forum Help & Suggestion Center section is for problems, site problems, suggestions and questions about the site itself. I know it's a bit confusing.
I will be moving this thread into the General Tech forum since this applies to more than just a Mazda3.

Why would water make the horn malfunction? I've never heard of this in any other car.
