I just traded in a 2015 CX 5 for a 2022 CX 9. I used to use an iPod for music and audiobooks. The CX 9 gives me a device not supported message when I plug in the iPod. So then I plugged in an old iPhone 7 and although its recognized and I can use CarPlay , it won't charge the phone. Thanks for any info.

What happens when you try charging the 7 in another vehicle of house charger?

 

The ipod is probably 10 years old but worked fine in my CX5. The 7 charges on house charger.. I can use my regular phone I guess but it was so handy not to have to hook anything up every time your get in the car.
