This was hanging from the back of my gf's car today. Before I start poking around, I was hoping someone would know where I should start looking for it's home. She said it's hanging from inside the rear bumper. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

 

That may be a connector to the rear number plate lamp or the rear Fog lamp??? Inspect all the rear lights Get your girl to sit in the drivers seat and operate all the lights , if they all work ( Including both number plate lights) then that wire cannot be for the lights im sure it is though. What mazda is it off?

 

The only other thing I can think of is that it came from the switch for the luggage compartment light.
