Default HELP!! Still rough idle...

[&o]98 626 Mazda- 108,000 love this little car...Still idles rough with erratic rpmsesp. now when you turn on the a/c. But I won't give up on her. When you start the car the rpms will rev high above the 1 then go back to normal as it has always been. But when you turn on the a/c it acts like the motor will shoot out of the hood ( I am not a mechanic just a lover of my car )it tries to compensate but stays ata high rpms.
I have had the the car worked on by 3 different mechanics for this problem. Not including the new transmission put it 2 months ago. Usual for Mazda at this time. Mazdatold me it was the spark plug wires cause they weren't mazda brand and the idle screw was not factory but had been replaced with another screw. Picked up carwent around the block and barely made it back the the dealership. Mazda said it was the a/c compressor system/fans system.Ok got that replaced $$. Stillidled rough Mazda said that it was the best it was going to get with the idle screw not being factory. Took it to the 2nd mechanic who replaced theIAC part? Not quite sure. Ran little better for awhile. 3rdmechanic said it was the timing belt was so bad it broke the camshaft sensor positioner clean off.Timing belt kit + water pump repairs.Camshaft sensor will be in today.Husband said I was luckly it was fall nowand don't need a/c.Ha, Ha!! I havereplacedmotor mounts, CV joints and boots, distributor cap. My question is:After camshafter sensor replaced do I need to reset anything? EGR? Or what else could it be?[&o]

Hi,
Just want to know if you were able to have the rough idle fixed. Please let me know for I have the same problem with my 94 626 with 144K miles but still runs great. The idle is only rough at a stop on drive.

Thanks!

has any body suggested to replace the air filter and clean or replace the mass air flow sensor since in many and almost any vehicle if the mass is dirty or damaged the engine can run rough and even irractic and may not even start and at higher speeds can feel luggy. buying a can of intake cleaner for about $6 bucks and carefully cleaning the mass sensor might releave alot of head aches, i clean mine in all my vechiles (four of them and yes one is a mazda) twice a year, spring and fall. try this aspecially if has never been done.
