Gas pedal not working

Changed the car battery in my Mazda CX 9 and now the gas pedal won’t accelerate.
What could be the issue?

Were you having any issues beforehand?

Open the bonnet. Shut all the doors. Lock the vehicle. Disconnect the battery for a half an hour. Reconnect the battery. Unlock the vehicle. Start the engine. Let it idle for a minute. Drive it & see what happens.

Is there a correlation between the battery replacement and losing acceleration

Not really no.It's remotely possible you might of spiked the computer. Basically try the old " turn it off & back on again" trick.

Failing this, you will need a diagnostic code check.
