Engine ticking noise

Hi all,

I lately noticed there's this clock ticking noise taking place in the front of my car (engine maybe?) It happens when I start putting my foot down on accelerator, and tick faster as I put my foot down further. It kinda disappeared if I put my foot down hard enough (or maybe it was just ticking so fast that I can't hear it) This happens on warm and cold engine.

I wonder the likely cause of this and what to do next? The latest service was done less than 2 months ago, and this pretty much started shortly after the service.

My car is a 2004 Mazda 3 Maxx on 31,000k serviced very regularly with a Mazda service center.

I really appreciate your input!

Thanks again

Phoebe

Anyone had this before, or get it fixed? The noise remains in my car:confused: Thanks in advance for your input!

Phoebe, I would have 2 or 3 independent mechanics listen to it. It could be a lifter noise. Or it could be related to something that is driven by the engine: water pump, power steering, alternator. It could be something harmless, but i would have it checked out.
