We are currently racing a car that has an old platform and is running a Mazda KL ZE and manual transmission for road racing. It is at roughly 180 hp. In order to minimize a retrofit to get another 40 -50 HP is there an engine that will bolt up to the existing transmission from the Mazda family that would be in the 220 hp range or with some realistic mods could get there. 6 cylinder or turbo four is both ok. Just current gearbox has a limited slip and custom gears so we would like something to bolt in. Plumbing and electrical is open and easy to upgrade. I look forward to your ideas.
