Eliminating the egr valve
 

I have been reading about you folks removing the egr valve or blocking the ports. How does this effect the computer, and would the cel stay on?? I'm going to clean my ports first, getting P401, but may end up closing the ports and putting an after market intake to add some spunk. I have a '99 Miata, my first Mazda. It was getting a MAP sensor error but the vacum was clogged at the intake. When I got vacum to the map, the egr problem started.
