Default Dead Protege

I have a 2002 Protege with about 95,000 miles on it. I drove it last Tuesday. We were going out of town on Wednesday (in another vehicle) and I remember grabbing my shades out of the car without locking/arming it. It sat in the garage until Sunday. I went to start it and got nothing. No sound at all. My husband hooked up the battery charger and the second it got any juice the car alarm went off. I pressed every button on the key fob and it just kept going off until the battery died again. We tried jumping it, that did nothing. The alarm didn't go off this time. I got the owner's manual out and saw that there was an alarm override button I should try to push while starting. Still nothing. We have the battery charger on it now and it's taking a charge. We're going to have to tow it to get it fixed if we can't figure it out. The battery is fairly new and I just had it in for new belts, plugs, fluids, etc. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong??

Unlocking it from the drivers door should disarm it.

Disarming it isn't the problem now. It doesn't start. There's absolutely nothing when the key is turned. The lights will come on if we turn them on so the battery is getting charged. For some reason, the alarm disengaged itself at some point.

It does not take many amps to make lights work. It takes huge amperage to make a starter work. Jump it off and/or swap the battery out and try it.

We tried jumping it, that did nothing.
Got no response from the car while jumping it.

Check all the fuses, there is a fuse block in the engine compartment and one under the dash. Is this an aftermarket alarm or a factory alarm?

I checked the fuses I could (the fuse box under the dash is hard to get to and I don't have to tools to check the large fuses under the hood). It's a factory installed alarm. The car is at the shop now.
