crankcase back pressure
Hi All, I have a 2014 CX-5 2.2 skyactive diesel & got the system maintenance required message then the car went into limp mode. I stopped & switched the engine off then started again & the meaasge was gone & car working perfectly. When I got home I checked the oil & it was a bit low but not on min however I noticed that I started the engine & hadnt put the oil cap back on & there was lots of backpressure coming out of the filler cap hole. I put the cap on & pulled the dip stick & there was no back pressure. Its reving & running fine & exhaust is clean. Any idea of a problem> I dont have a scanner however there are no warning lights on.Is this back pressure normal?
I had done a 200 mile trip when the limp mode happened then when it reset I drove another 50miles with no issue. Can you force a DPF clean on these engines, just for me to try that or are there any specific symptoms if its plugged up. Could it also be the EGR plugging up.87000 miles, any advise welcome.

Welcome to the forum
I would suggest to invest a small amount in a handheld basic ECU OBDII diagnostic scanner.
This is a basic one and very affordable.
Amazon.com: ANCEL AD310 Classic Enhanced Universal OBD II Scanner Car Engine Fault Code Reader CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool, Read and Clear Error Codes for 1996 or Newer OBD2 Protocol Vehicle (Black) : Automotive
I strongly advise....DO NOT get a blue tooth scanning device. These are not user friendly (information overload) and can give the owner a case of owner's auto hypochondriacism lol
