Default coolant in auto transmission

My son has nice 1994 mx6 (84k) that has developed a problem and we need help. After having the auto transmission rebuilt in Nov. my son drove it aprox. one week and it quit pulling. We took it back to the tranny shop and the owner said it had coolant in the tranny and that it would need rebuilding. (when the tranny went out the first time there was NO antifreeze on the dip stick or in the tranny)The owners excuse was that the oil cooler in the radiator was bad and let antifreeze in the tranny. So we had it rebuilt again with the understanding that he would install an external cooler. We got it back on Dec 28,06. the owner said that he found the problem ,that the radiator cooler was fine so he felt there was no need of an external cooler. Well quess what ? Antifreeze back in the tranny. Besides the possibility of a bad internal cooler, can anyone out there offer an explanation of where the coolant could be coming from? any vacuum source? The internal cooler seems to be fine. My son said that when driving it he could turn the heat/ac controls to off and the transmission would pull ( or in his opinion) better. I have worked on cars for more that40 years and this stumps me. HELP. Thanks mx6guy

Default RE: coolant in auto transmission

you can only get coolant in the trany via the radiator or external cooler. check trans lines but more importantly check radiator ( presure test) for internal leak. i would just change radiator.also you should detect trany fluid in radiator if that is your prob. good luck.
