conventional oil vs synthetic. mazda cx5

I took my car to the dealership for the first oil change. They put conventional oil 5w-20. The dealer said that my car can use that oil due the tropical temperatures in Puerto Rico. Should I can go back to synthethic? The manual saids: OW-20 full syntherhic for USA and Canada. Any sugestions?

Thanks

Hmm, Genuine Mazda Oil here in NZ is not synthetic and they don't recommend running synthetic oil in Mazda's.

The new mazdas in USA and Canada recommend using 0w-20 synthetic oil not conventional. The reason they changed it is due to the skyactive motor have lightweight parts and other internal changes such as oil injectors onto the cams.

Our regular petrol oil is recommended for Sky-active too.

I took my car back to the dealership. They re-do the oil change with synthetic OW-20. :)
