Default BHS3669C0M AUDIO / RADIO system

Hi all my radio & all leisure electrics cut out on the car a while back and after having a diagnostic run they found that the media control unit (part number - BHS3669C0M)
Has failed. When getting a quote for a new one it’s £1200. I’ve been told you can’t use second hand ones already programmed to another car?

is this true as it makes me wonder why people re sell them if they can’t be re programmed? Or are they looking for an easy sale?

thanks any help is appreciated.

No reason why you cant fit a 2nd hand unit. Nothing to be programmed, as long as the part number matches yours.

have you done it or seen it done before? Only because my local dealership & auto electrics place both said that it would have to be?

just being careful before I fork out money for a second hand one as they’re £250-400

I've swapped them over before at the dealership I work at.

Not difficult if you're mechanically minded.
