Default Auto Headlights and Wipers

2019 CX-5 Signature. I was surprised to see that the auto headlights do not come on during the day when the wipers are operating. Either in the wiper manual or auto switch positions. Seems like a missed opportunity. It's a requirement in some states. Is it a menu choice that I missed.

Two totally different systems with no overlap or relationship.

I understand but it's an unfortunate decision. My Subaru has this feature as I'm sure do many other cars. You can opt out with a menu selection. If you live in a state (as I do) that requires headlights during day-time rain then it is necessary to move the left stalk out of Auto and into ON. Automatic features imply not having to make manual changes.

You can adjust the sensitivity of the headlights to come on in lighter conditions.

I'm giving that a try. I changed the headlight sensitivity from Medium to High.

Subaru has hidden menus for dealer use only. In fact, one of the dealer selections is "Wiper-Headlight Linking". Choices are On or Off and the default is On. I wonder if Mazda has dealer only menus?

I agree with the concern, but Mazda has not gotten around to addressing it yet.
