Default 93 F-150: Wrong forum, right people...

Ok, so it isn't a Mazda, but people on here are much smarter than other places.

So anyway, my 93 F-150 has a problem.

I towed a boat home from a town about an hour or so away from my house. The overdrive switch is/was broke so I could not turn it off.
By the time I got home the tranny was leaking fluid like I couldn't imagine.

I let it sit a day to ponder within my own thoughts, then today, I filled the fluid to the operating level, which was only 3qts, ran it for awhile, took it for a drive, then let it idle for about 20min.

No leaks...

Is it possible that I put way to much this old poor old ford transmission that it overheated and "boiled over"?

check owner's manual, I have been told by a former employer to not use overdrive when towing with the ford trucks they used.

Yes I know this, but the switch was broken, it's fixed now, but my question is still unanswered.
