2017 CX-5 can't receive text messages
 

My wife has never been able to receive text messages on her CX-5. She has no problem placing or receiving calls on her Apple iPhone 11. Apple CarPlay is not installed. I have been through all of the settings in the Mazda Connect controls and they are set correctly according to Mazda's instructions as well as various posts I've found on the Net. They also match the settings on our 2016 Mazda 3 which does not have a problem receiving text messages. She contacted Mazda and spoke with a support person who told her she needed to get the latest software. The CX-5 had version 59.something, so we just paid $145 to have it upgraded to 74.00.23A, but the problem persists. The dealer who did the upgrade said we should bring the car back so they could check it out. Before doing that and leaving the car for a day or ???, I thought I'd see if the forum could help.
