I have a 2002 protege5 with od and check engine light flashing. Dealer replaced the cheap half of the trans speed controler but light came back on. They now say trans needs to be replaced. Car has 43,000 miles. Have also rebuilt brake controler. Is this a common problem? Is this correct that the other half of the speed controller can only be changed by replacing the entire transmission?
