1992 B2600i goes dead.
I have a 1992 B2600i that goes dead as I go down the road. It will turn over but not start. After a few minutes I hear a click and it will fire up. Any suggestions on what this could be?

I have replaced the coil and it will run for about 20 minutes..goes dead..loses spark...wait about 30 minutes and it will start up again.... anyone have any ideas?
|
Are you getting voltage INTO the coil when this happens? Is this a carbed engine? I would say its injected with the i at the end but not sure, the Japanese ran carbed engines much longer than most did.

It is fuel injected.... havent checked the voltage into the coil..do you think it would lose voltage when it warmed up?...thanks
|
Well its the only think I can think of if you say it loses spark, if that is the case then the ECU is cutting spark for some reason. How many miles are on the truck?
|
140,000

The distributor cover is broke .. not the cap...its underneath the cap...do you think that might be it?....thought about replacing the condenser
|
There should not be a condenser on this car, condensers were only used on points ignition to keep the points from burning up. If you have a bad part it wouldnt hurt to replace it anyways, can you get a picture of the broken part?

Truck still only runs for a little while then quits...wait about 20 minutes then starts up again... If you bump the starter you hear a click when you release it.. If you hear the cick it while start up.. I think the click is coming from the box just above the fuel pump relay.. Anyone know what that is?
