1988 Mazda 323 ignition switch problem
 

Can a momentary contact switch be jumpered in for the starter circuit and a toggle switch be jumpered in for the run circuit? The car is a manual transmission.Onesymptom is that thestarter does not always turn off when the key is turned to the off position. The other symptom is that the car fails to start or cuts out when it is already running.
