CarPlay Won't Auto Connect
 

Got a 2024 CX-5 with the Premium Plus package. Have had the car for a month and have 400 miles on it., CarPlay was auto connecting. Have verified it is set to auto connect. Suddenly it quit auto connecting. Can't connect manually either. Phone is connecting (address book, calls, etc show up). Where to start debugging?

BTW, I called Mazda and had them disable the TCU, however don't see how that would effect CarPlay.

Are you connecting wirelessly? or via a cable?

Wirelessly. Was working fine then quit. I am wondering if the CarPlay connection is via WiFi or BT? When in the car there is a Mazda_biglongNumber_SPL that is available. No idea what it does

Problem solved. CarPlay connects via WiFi. I had noticed the Mazda WiFi and disabled it, not knowing what it was for. Reenabling it allowed CarPlay to connect automatically. Apparently BT is only for phone functions, music, etc.
