91 mazda 626 5sp...Perplexing Problem

Hello,

Ok...just tolerate me as I attempt to explain the problem, keeping in mind that I am not that mechanically inclined..smile.

I have a 1991 mazda 626 LX (non-turbo) that lost it's fire 3 months ago. The module, harness (wiring), computer and ignition box that makes the computer work has all been replaced. The car fired up, however the timing was off, to the degree that the motor rocked out of control. Themechanic fixed that problem, but again it lost it's fire, which resulted intracing all wires to get it fired up again. That worked and the car was running fine, but the power had diminisheda lot, so heattempted to resolve that problem, which he did.Well, just when he thought all was resolved and I was about to get the car back, it started to go back to the timing being out of control again, as it did in the beginning.

He is so perplexed, never seeing anything like it and has even called on help from other mechanics. He had it connected to the computer, checking it out, but it shows nothing wrong.

Does anyone have any possible insight at all? If I have not explained this to the point of understanding just what I am attempting to get across, please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. I will try to answer all I know, but keep in mind that I may not know...smile.

RE: 91 mazda 626 5sp...Perplexing Problem

Just giving an update and still need help.

The timing was fixed, which was due to a bad or faulty part installed. However, the car is now has no power...thus, is it 'POWERLESS'...this is crazy. The mechanic is totally lost, but isn't giving up.

After all that work, it is right back to where it started from.

Does anyone here have any suggestions, tips, ideas or just know what could be the problem?

Thanks,
Karen
