Metallic effect on paint?
Hi Everyone
I needed to do some touch-up to my Black-Mica (color code 16W) Mazda and I got the DupliColor "Perfect Match" for that color + the clear top coat. While the color really matches, I notice that the original paint has some "metallic sparkles" that the DupliColor paint do not provide. I am missing something? Is there a clear-coat on top of the base-color that would provide that? Or is simply that Duplicolor is not a good product? Thanks in advance !!! |
I bought the touch-up paint for my dark blue Mazda 3 directly from a Mazda dealer. It has the metallic flecks and is a perfect match to the paint. My problem is that the thickness of the spot does not match the thickness of the rest of the car so you can still see the spot i was trying to fix. I assume my problem is primarily my skill level. I suspect that if I knew what I was doing, the paint would match perfectly.

We're you able to do the touch-up? How was it?

Mazda 16w is a single stage paint with a clear coat after the painted surface. If you did not get the proper BLACK MICA with no "sparkle then you received the wrong paint. It may have been labeled incorrectly.
For small touch up I use TOUCH UP STORE 704-616-1675 You get the correct 16W Black MICA touch up pen , a Primer pen and a Clear coat Pen. If you follow the direction they will fill and blend in a chip in your piant. Amazon has them a s regular seller. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.maz...5cff00ce59.jpg |
