sat. radio

RE: sat. radio
You can install a stand alone sat. module (i.e. it's own display and all control is through the unit), but you won't be able to hook an aftermarket receiver up to the OEM HU and control it through the HU. If you want to use the stereo to control it then you need to go with the OEM receiver. You can occasionally find them on ebay for about $150 or so, otherwise they're $300 from the dealer.
If you went with a stand alone you'll still need to input the signal to the stereo. You can use the built in FM transmitter, but I'd suggest getting a hard wire input such as an Aux Mod Basic or a grom module to get the best sound out of the set up.

RE: sat. radio
Thanks alot. We have a local place in town that said they wouldn't attempt to wire my car for sat. radio if I am already set up for one. I have a bud a circuit city that could do it but he is a little precatious. The radio stations here are rough at times. I will keep everyone posted on how the mod goes. I will begin the mod after the new year hits. Thanks for your reply!
