Remove Gracenote

Remove Gracenote
I have a new CX-5. I use a USB drive with many songs. When I try to play by genre, Gracenote overrides and lists them in completely different genres than I have assigned. I found a way online to reset the system to remove Gracenote, but it wasn't complete.
Does anyone know how to get the system to use my genres instead of Gracenote?
Thanks

Fix Gracenote
I think I stumbled on a fix to stop Gracenote from overriding my metadata. I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else has the problem.
All of the files on my USB drive are named with the track name (song title). I changed all of the file names by adding sequential numbering to the beginning of the name. (I'm guessing the names can be changed to anything and this will still work.) But I did not change the id3 tag track names. When I plugged the USB back into the car, all of the genres now display correctly.
The only thing I don't understand is why that worked. Could it be that the car has a cache that associates Gracenote's information with the filename? Since I disabled Gracenote it wasn't able to identify the "new" tracks.
I hope this helps others.
