Default MY17 Mazda 6 MZD Satnav frozen/no satellites

So just recently I found that the satnav isn't working on my 6. It's just frozen on a map showing where it last was when it was working. If I check for satellites, there are non detected. I've tried the MZD reset process and removing the power from the car for an hour or so, but it's still the same. Everything else on the infotainment system is working as normal. I can't find much info about this loss of GPS problem. There have been some posts on various sites with these symptoms but the only one that seems to have been resolved was with the power disconnect/reconnect. This issue isn't limited to the 6, as the MZD systems are pretty much identical across the range.

So has anyone ever had this problem and what was the solution please? Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Might be time for a MZD software update.

Serious question: What makes you think that after more than 7 years of working without fault, that it would suddenly need a software update to work? Does the software expire or wear out over time?

20 years of working for Mazda makes me think its software related.

So it turned out to be the GPS antenna that's mounted in the dash behind the CMU. I don't know what could have caused the antenna to suddenly stop working, but a replacement immediately fixed the issue.
