Map DVD
 

I have a mazda 5 with nav. I was just wondering if there is anyone that knows a way of making the Nav play video DVD's. There is a DVD player in the the glove box but it will only play map dvd's.

DVD's are all coded in different ways, the dvd player in your car is probably coded to play only the map dvd with the matching code. Its the same premise as normal dvd's. a dvd with a regional coding of "1" can not be played outside of North America or the US territories, and a dvd purchased in Japan will not play in the US. I would check on the dvd player if you can remove it, it should have info or your owners manual.
