Hi. New to the forums.

After installing the METRA 99-7503 single din dashboard kit the LCD panel won't work properly. It always lights up, but there is no information. Sometimes when I turn the ignition everything on the display lights up at once, and then disappears.

HVAC funtions properly, but it's quite annoying having to guess the AC settings.

It's a Mazda 6 '02 (Registered in Norway).

Any idea what it can be? Wiring looks to be in order...

I think this maybe a come outcome of these kits, or you have bought the kit for the base model Mazda that has manual dials not the electronic climate control.

 

According to the manufacturer I should be able to use the display. It is possible that this is not the kit for electronic climate control. Never thought about that.

I don't have climate control and mine works!
I have also heard that with Mazdaspeed cars it's another issue (not good).
I know you don't have a Mazdaspeed but it's worth mentioning.

Are there different versions? Anyone know where I can get a kit that supports climate control?

 

I found others who have had issues with the Metra on EU and Australian models.
