Default 2001 MPV Radio Removal

I just purchased a 2001 MPV and would like to install a new stereo. Does anyone have any info on how I can remove the factory installed one? I have looked over, under, in front and behind (as best as possible) and can not figure out how to remove it. I would also like to install my XM, but can not figure out how to get behind the dash console so that I can run the antenna & power wires. Any help would be appreciated!

Default RE: 2001 MPV Radio Removal

just about every MAZDA is a FORD... i know its sad but oh well... go to an audio store or a best buy and get whats known as the ford removeal tool, what it is, is a U shape peice of metal (2 of them)that will slid into openings on either side of the radio untill you feel it snap into place this might take a little bit to get then to snap in. NOTE:if you are forceful on doing so you may bend the mounting tabs and then its a BITCH to get the radio out.

now that the tools are in place push the tools OUTWORD of the radio and pull the radio out.

if u need more help let me know

i can send pics
