oh, about the cradle deal. I never heard of it either untill 3 weeks ago. Apparently it holds the suspension and the wheel assembly. Thats kind of what I got from the Mazda Tech guy. It was not centered correctly. Obviously, that can cause the car to veer. They realigned it and it runs perfectly straight now. It is covered by the warranty. I would get a loaner. It took them a whole day to fix it. They gave me a loaner free of charge. In addition, Mazda tried the wheel alignment, checked tires, checked engine mounts 2 different times and didnt get it right. With their puzzlement, they finally called a Mazda tech line and they found the cradle to be the problem. The end.

well I want to say C class or something like that, I was 14 or 15 years old. I didn't even have a drivers license. Maybe the Mercedes handled slightly better. After having some fun this morning, I really payed close attention. My body goes flying in the turns, but the car has plenty of grip. It does feel somewhat unstable, but I can stay in the gas and it doesn't push much at all. I can only imagine what kind of car the 6 would be if it was built for the Mercedes class. Its a 20,000 car and I love it almost as much as a Corvette. Tweak the handling a little bit, add more insulation to quite the ride and add some more power and this car will on everyone's shopping list. Most cars around 20,000 need alot more improvements then that.

have you ever driven a corvette?

those cars handle great....

go out and test drive a new one and see if you like the way the 6 handles

hmm. I drove a Mercedes once. It was either a 94 or 95 model year. But honestly, the Mazda has alot of body roll but there is more oversteer in the Mazda. I love that. With the right technique, this car can feel snug in turns where other cars can't even dream of.

Okay, well what type of Mercedes did you drive? I still disagree about the 6 hugging corners. Like I said, it's not shabby with the handling...but it could definitely be improved upon.

If you want improvement , you need to step up to the v6 3.0 l with the appropriate o.e. suspension and wheel & tire package .... I hope people here realize there is a distinction in the comparisons dished out , here ....

Seriously...Corvette is AMAZING with handling. I used to detail my old bosses 01 Vette, so I got to go pick it up, and drive it all the way back to my house to shine 'er up! Man, what fun that car was. Definitely handled WAY better than my Benz and was better than my 91 Toyota MR2 as well. I love 2 seaters!

i owned a 92 mr2 turbo
god that car was horrible at speed

but it wasnt too bad with slow windy roads... well it was odd to drive you had to really break into a corner to keep the nose planted... but it was good cause you could keep the car pointed with the throttle

I loved my MR2...that sucker stuck to the road. I also had Z rated tires on it and upgraded to 17" wheels. Everyone told me "They won't fit...they're going to be too big for the car." Haha, proved them wrong, and then when the OZ Nova's were on, they said "Holy shit that is sweet." Yeah, nice how people change their minds. The car was kinda boggish with acceleration...but most cars couldn't hold it in the corners like the deuce could. Gotta love equal weight distribution and rear wheel drive!

Likes:
Excellent handling for a front-driver.
Comfy drivers seat (leather).
One of the best looking sedans on the road

No-Like:
5-spd auto is only so-so
Exessive road noise on rough pavement
Crummy gas mileage

Overall, car is a winner- and at 23K miles has been perfectly reliable.

1. a 5 spd would 'partially' help
2 what is boot ?
3 must be the left hand steering as opposed to your right handed steering Cooper from the Brits.
4 unfortunately , as Mazdas have a tendancy to be known for
5 need to compare apples to apples ; these cars (Coopers) were known to outperform in curves on the track more powerful cars
