1. The handling is definately one of the best things about this car despite what some of you say.
2. The brakes are also very good.
3. The exterior looks and the headlights are just awesome!
4. The excelleration even in the 2.3L 4-Cyl is better than most of comparable class/or engine size.

Dislikes:
1. The interior fabric in the '05 sucks! It is like sandpaper. I know they changed it in the '06, but am not sure what the older model year fabrics are like. And of course the leather is just fine.
2. That annoying seat belt chime...
3. The stock sound system (not the Bose obviously) sounds cheap twangy. The system in the 3 sounds a little better for some reason.
4. The MOST annoying thing is that on a road that is not perfectly level, the steering wheel fights me when I try to drive straight. And no it is not my alignment etc... The dealer has had it in 3 times and they say its as good as it gets....oh well.

Sorry but I can't limit it to 2 good and 1 bad.

hey rhinorf! The same thing happens to me. The craddle was out of adjustment. It took Mazda 5 times to get it right!

I totally agree with you rhino. The 2.3 is one of the best in the class. The stock audio system does suck. Even the Bose is not that great. The interior is not my favorite. The colors are cool, but the materials look cheap. I have gone 120 many times in turns. It is somewhat loose (oversteer) but it had alot of grip. They are stock tires too. The looks are one of the best of any cars on the road. I put in in the same class as Corvette and Ferrai

I guess it's all relative to what we've driven before .... to what set-up we have now ....

brakes are top notch

suspension of the v6 is almost as good as my Cobra in curves
the Cobra is lowered and running on 255s wide
the 6 is not and running on 215s

the interior is sooo comfy esp. with the heated skins ... lateral support ; en masse
fully optioned loaded interior with o.e. extras

just terrific all around car , great buy

Well, this is all obviously matter of personal opinion. That is mine. I also owned a 2001 Mercedes SLK320 Roadster before this car...so, it doesn't really compare at all. But I was comparing my car now to the 2001 Toyota Solara that I had. I had no complaints with the Solara at all. The 6 is a little more peppy than the Solara though.

hmm.. it is your opinion. I was just wondering if there was someone wrong with your car. Joking. I would still take the Mazda 6 over a Mercedes, the 6 handles much better.

For my favorites, I would tend to agree with 6pack:

1. Sporty look and performace all around. I too have a another toy car strictly for the summer time, and my 04' Mazda 6 3.0L Sport is right up there in handling feel with my 89' Mustang GT 5.0L and I had to spend a lot of time and money on what they call the fox body mustang chassis to get the handling to where I wanted. Talk about bargain performace... the Mazda 6 starts there, well, at least the V-6 sport version does anyway.

2. The fact that it is still a versatile vehicle. Although sporty in look and feel, it handles bumps well and does not feel overly agressive under normal driving conditions. I.E. it is everything you need in a sedan (4 doors, trunk, space, comfortable ride) combined with the things everyone loves about sports cars (steady feel, power, good looks). It is just such a unique vehicle in so many good ways.

Least favorite thing:

-I think they could have done a better job with some of the insulation, to cut down on some of the outside noise that makes it into the cabin. Although the car is sporty in nature and not built to be a luxury car, I think they could have insulated the dash/firewall area better, and between the front wheel wells and the A-Pillar area too.

Hey 6 Pack nice photos of your Cobra in the other thread post. I'll race ya if you ever make it to MN. You'll need a super charger though. I have 11 psi coming from my Kenne Bell right now .
