If I could touch on the original post for a second....

Take this for what it's worth, the opinion of a total car nut. But also a guy that has only owned his 3 for a little over 2 weeks.

I also have the automatic and I have noticed that there are many times that you push the gas pedal and nothing much happens.

I have determined that this is due to the automatic transmission being programmed for maximum fuel economy. I the car tends to upshift waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before it needs to, in order to conserve fuel by keeping the revs down. I have been crusing in the city at 50km/h (30 mph give or take a few) and been in 4th gear many times since I got the car. There aren't many cars on the market that would have instant get up and go in this situation.

I guess the solution is to use the tiptronic shifter (auto-stick) full time if you always want good throttle response. But just be aware that if you do this, your fuel economy is going to get alot worse.

Right, there is no reason to use the auto-stick unless you are racing somebody, keep it full auto for casual drive

some people like to drive in auto-stick, because they like they fact that they are in more control of the engine and the car using it. I actually drive in auto-stick almost 100% of my driving time, and my fuel economy is still relatively the same as it was just driving in manual. and i actually did scrape some paint off where the ground wire connects, didnt really notice a difference, but the area i scraped off was not very much, i will do some more and see what happens.

Take into thought that the sluggishness might come from it being a new car and need to break in the computer since its ETB and not a wire anymore, havent had the dying problem, but everynow and again my do feel very quick vibration when im warming up or idling for a long time. Also does this sluggishness mainly come from people owning the auto? cause if it is then its what bomb said

ive got a manual tranny, krimson, and i notice no sluggishness...my car does what it's told, when it's told.

the idea kinda came to me when i sit in the "manual" mode it responds a little better, but its still sluggish, you know sometimes new technology can really take the fun away from things

A little off topic, but how long, mileage wise, does it take to break in an engine?
