So, the problems with my new ''94 626 start mounting. I haven''t yet decided about the CV joint but will probbaly not risk ending up with a heap of parts on my drive rendering me useless for the forseeable future. But the engine temp gauge sits at about a quarter of the way up from cold. The engine seems to be coming up to temperature as it''s bloody hot to touch after a few blocks. Can you tell me where to find the sensor and if it should be replaced? Or is this a sign of worse than just a dodgy sensor? Again - I''ll attempt this myself. I get the feeling a manual is going to be needed very soon.... I keep seeing things that aren''t quite right! Cheers

The water temperature sensor is the thing that screws into the bottom back of the radiator. If you look for a pair of wires leading to the radiator, you found the sensor. I wouldn''t worry about this, doesn''t seem like a problem. Mazda usually recommends the coolant be replaced every 30,000 miles. Maybe it''s time for a good flush and replace with something pre-mixed. Don''t forget the reservoir, it probably has mud at the bottom now. I like to take it out and give it a good washing.

Excellent - I''ve got a few car related jobs this weekend so I''ll have at the radiator and see if it''s something I can take out and flush. Cheers G3D.
