So, what''s up with the 60,000 mile service? I had my car in around 57,000 miles for an oil change, and the mechanic told me I''ll be due for a service at 60,000 that will cost me something like $250.00? He said that service includes new plugs, fuel system cleaning, and some other stuff. Is he trying to rip me off, or is there something to this? The car is running just fine, no issues whatsoever.

I''ve still got the original plugs in my wife''s 6 with 78,000 miles, no problem. Manual states replace at 62,500 miles (100K km) Fuel system "cleaning" would most likely be a bottle of fuel additive put in your tank. $5 at any autoparts store. Factory service manual recommends the following at 62,500 miles Replace: Spark plugs Engine oil & filter (duh) Engine Coolant Brake fluid (every 25,000 miles) Manual trans fluid Cabin air filter
