I have a recurring P1770 "Transmission overrunning clutch solenoid valve" code and Check Engine light on my 2000 Millenia S. Sometimes the Hold light will be on or flashing. When the Hold light flashes, the tranny will not shift into top gear. Fault will often clear itself after restarting. Dealer tells me the cost to replace the valve is over $1,000 (parts and labor) and there''s no guarantee that will solve the problem. Are there any other options available to fix this fault before authorizing surgery on the transmission?
