I have an 04 2.0 86K Miles and my ABS light comes on and stays on? Any Ideas what this could be? All the fuses are fine. I''ve tried resetting the battery, that did not help. I turn the ignition on the light comes on like normal, goes off like normal then comes back on a split second later and stays on?

Would this be covered in my warranty? I got the extended 10/100,000mi

Just trying to get some opinions before i take it into the deal. My Mazda dealer is always overbooked and under staffed.

Not sure what your warranty covers, but I would take it to the dealer since there obviously is an issue with the ABS System if the light stays on.

I had the same problem with my Malibu, turned out to be the ABS module ($1400 job!) - you got the warranty, take it to the dealer. I''d bet it''s the module.

86K?  Warranty?  I doubt it. Have you checked to see that the ABS sensor wires are all in place? That one didn''t come loose on it''s own? You will have to pull all the wheels to do this.

No, I didn''t check that, I wouldn''t even know how to check that? you got a link or something I could look at?...yeah, not sure if the dealer will cover it. Although I haven''t checked it out but I think the 10/100000 mile warranty only covers drivetrain parts.

Check your extended warranty paperwork closely before making an appointment.
But if you want to look yourself, they are a small sensor mounted behind each of the wheels, often on a little piece of tin and have just one thin wire leading to them. They''re pretty easy to spot. Who knows?  A stone may have taken one of the wires out?

i''m not sure what those sensors would have to do with the airbag light though?

You''re getting the airbag light too? Hah! This is the exact sequence of events I went through...wound up needed a new module.

You mentioned nothing about the air bag light before this? Are you confusing the auto braking system (ABS) w/the passenger side air bag deactivation system (PABDS?)
Could something be stuck in the passenger side female end of the seat belt? Do you have kids??
