I have a 86 rx7 13b ac works nice on highway only in the city not if im at a trafic light with the ac on the car will shut off only when i stop im lost

Three words: Idle Air Solenoid. The car probably has one. Most cars from this era did, from my experience.
It activates and opens electrically when you turn on the A/C to allow more air, fed directly into the intake. The car compensates for that by adding a little more fuel. This causes the idle to come up a bit to compensate for the drag of the A/C compressor on the engine.

Sorry I didn"t see this thread sooner, but that"s my best guess.
