I was driving down 285 (I love really curvy moutain roads) it was about 2am and i was at a red light(this was the last light for about 10 miles) and this little punk kid in a honda civic with a fart can pulls up next to me and starts reving his car. Now i usually will not race someone if i know their car is faster but i had to show this kid how to drive. The light turned green and i floored my 1.5L protege, the kid pulled ahead untill we came to the first of many sharp downhill hairpin turns he started looseing traction in the turn and my car has pretty good traction in turns so i started to gain on him untill we get to a straight away then he kinda starts to pull away untill the next turn. (This went on for about 7 miles and in each turn i would slowly catch up to him ) We were at the last turn before we were in town, at this point my car is topped out at 135MPH and we were just about neck and neck, as we entered the turn there was a cop on the shoulder with his radar gun pointed at us, as soon as i was about to slow down in the turn the kid lost control and hit the gurd rail right in front of the cop, so i kept the pedal to the floor and turned on the first dark road i found and turned my lights off and kept going down that road untill i got to a main road put my lights back on and got the hell out of there.

I''m with MT on this one.

Racing on the street doesn''t make you cool, no matter what your friend''s say.  Ask the any number of kids sitting in jail with vehicular homicide charges against them after someone got killed street racing if it''s cool or not.

So let''s say that kid killed himself (pretty easy to do at 135 mph), and the cop decided to chase you down and pull you over.  You were racing him and the kid died, you would be brought up on charges in that person''s death, not only that, but by running away from the scene and killing your lights, you are fleeing and eluding.

Grow up kid.  Keep it on the track.

FYI.....Street racing comments are better received in other forums than this one, you may want to find a different audience for your ultra cool activities.

Y''know, I can understand a little bit of back and forth drag on a wide (4 lane or better) highway at 2AM...but racing down B roads? Death wish.
