Hello, yes, this is my first post on this forum. I did a search but did not find what I was looking for. My mother is in the process of choosing between an 08 CX-7 GT FWD vs 08 Honda CR-V AWD. Both to have navigation. Now for my question; the CX-7 GT we test drove did not have auto-locking doors when either the ignition was turned of when we started moving. Both the Honda and my VW auto-locks at about 8mph. I know a button can be pressed to either lock or unlock all the doors; she feels, and I agree, that it should be an automatic feature. What, if anything can be done about this? Thank you.

You are right NO Auto Lock feature on a 2007 CX7. Also try and get out of the car when the doors are locked. Only way is hit the unlock button or pull at the manual lock next to the door handle. I asked the NTSB about a safety thing and they agreed that it should not be that way. The man I talked to even had a Speed6 and he didn''t know thats the way it worked. I hope Mazda fixed this saftey concern in the 2008 model but I am not sure if that''s what happened. You would think with Ford owning about 45% of Mazda that an Auto-Lock feature would be standard equiptment.
