Okay, two questions:

1.) Should the rear vent in the back of the center console blow the same temperature air as the front vents? Ours ONLY blows cold - is it broken, or is this how it is supposed to be (which would be stupid).

2.) When driving along at a crusing speed, say 60 or 70 km/h, every now and then I hear a strange sound, simular to that of air brakes on a truck. The sound of air being released. (not sure this is what it is, just what it sounds like (or if you close your teeth together and push out a quick blow, you''ll get a simular sound). When the sound occurs, we also get a very brief, very mild serge, like taking your foot off the accelorator a tiny bit and putting it back, its quite subtle, but is definately there.

(The car is going in for its first oil change in a few days, so it is still under warranty etc, but curious if anyone else has had a simular problem and what it was... I will report back after we get it checked out, but it would be helpful to go to the shop and say, I think it is the xxxx that is having problems).

(2008 Mazda 5 GT, Canadian Spec).

Okay, car went in for servicing - $44 after taxes etc. Not bad really... Anyways, here is the answer to those two points above...

The Air Vent - Its a fan only, just blows outside air, so its not broken. This is really quite stupid if you ask me, but it is what it is, so oh well.

The Noise - They werent able to reproduce it, but suspected it had to do with a release of pressure when things get hot, something to do with relays, I dunno - I didnt really understand what he was talking about, but it sounds fairly normal to him the way I described it. As it isnt an inconvenience at all I am not really woried and will just talk to them again if it keeps coming back, or gets worse.
