I''ve had gas mileage issues with this car that I bought one year ago.  Yesterday I drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles and stopped to fill up near Santa Barbara.  I checked the mileage and got 24 1/2 MPG.  I''m totally shocked at such high MPG.  I drove the 101 and averaged maybe 77 mph.  On the way up I probably averaged 83 mph and mileage was about 20 1/2.  Strange.

This is on mid-grade gas.

Still cracks me up at how many people buy a turbo SUV that weighs nearly 3700 lbs and then complain about mileage..

Oh well this car is extremely sensitive to your foot.  Drive it like there is an egg between your foot and the gas pedal with very easy take offs.  Also drive to keep the rpm below 2300 rpm which is where your turbo boost starts to kick in.

I routinely get 22 highway and 18 city.  It is a bit boring to drive it this way but it really helps the mileage and the power is still there when I need it.
