You are right about California.  I have heard/read horror stories about those that move their plates to the windshield getting tickets.  Here in Texas, that''s legal. 3 years and no problems w/the law over it.
You may want to reconsider if you live in Cali, EL.

Hi to all, my car is a week old and love driving it. I will be keeping the front license plate on the front\purchase a chrome with mazda logo on it. Will be washing it by the end of the weekend \ any suggestions on what not to do or do on the first wash?

First weekend?!  I only waited 2 days (picked up my car 7/16, washed it 7/18) before I washed mine.  It had rain spots on it from when I picked it up.  My sales guy said as soon as they got done detailing it and parked it out front for me it started raining.  I said "well you coulda washed it again and parked it in the garage."  ;)  Was thinking about washing it again today but it rained so it would have been futile.  Funny, I never laid a hand on my HHR...always took it to the car wash.  My 6 is so easy to wash, even the wheels.  Anyway, it''s supposed to rain through to Wednesday so I won''t get to wash it until at least Thursday.  :(

Oh, and in New York we have to have the front license plate too.  I hate it.  Didn''t need one when I lived in Texas or PA.

Don''t complain, the 5-0 in my neck of the state are probably bigger PitA about it.

^ I believe she''s got...Lava Red? Every time I see a 6 I feel just a little bit bitter.

What?  I live in Texas now and grew up in Pa. True, no front tag in Pa but we do here in TX.
Volcanic Red, just a bit toned down (thankfully) from "True" Red.
