I think it's kind of a car to car basis thing. I installed a Mazdaspeed CAI last weekend and had to disconect my batt, but nothing happened like what has been described. I drive an 05 M6s 5dr (V6 as well), so it might not affect yours either, but i have honestly no clue.

I think its unique to the 06's do the automatic power windows come on the earlier models? (windows roll down with key)?

I need a new battery in my ''04 6 S Wagon, and the dealer told me that you only need to "reset" or "reinitialize" the power windows IF you have the auto-down function on all four doors...he said that if you have auto-down on only the driver''s door, then it''s a moot issue. Just fyi. David
