New to this page, here's my problem.

My thermostat has been going to hot for awhile, i got it checked by Mazda (in Canada),
and they say my one cluster gauge is not reading. I had thought my car was overheating. If it's not reading why does it move at all? Most of the time it rises to normal.

so now i have an appt on the 15th to get it fixed. they say that I have to buy the whole cluster gauge, which is $755 plus labour and tax. now it goes to hot everytime i drive, sometimes all gauges go wonky.

I've been holding off getting it fixed, but the problem is driving me nuts~
So why does my gut feeling tell me i'm getting ripped off?

Please let me know what you think.
