So I was cruising around with 2 of my friends. One in the front seat of my 3 hatch, other in the back with no seatbelt. A cop spotted me about a mile before he pulled me over and estimated me doing around 75 80 in a 35 zone. Which yes I was speeding, probably a little faster than that too. I got a ticket for passegner not wearing a seatbelt and a speeding ticket.

Anyone have any advice of whether I should contest the speeding ticket to try and get the speed reduced as much as possible to say 55ish?

Sorry, but that's what you get for going way too fast in a 35, especially with passengers. I'm not saying I don't speed too, but I do it by myself on the highway...

And smack your friend who was in the back seat. Make his dumb ass pay that part of the ticket. In the future though, say one thing whenever anyone gets into your car: "Put your seatbelt on, or we're not going anywhere."

That's double the speed limit (in miles at that).
Your in for some major insurance woes.

In ontario they would have taken your car and impounded it for a week.  Fined you $2000.00.  And left you on the side of the road.  Up to you how to get home.

In most cases you can dispute the ticket and they'll drop the points and increase the fine.

However, if your case involved an extreme case (double the speed limit would most likely fall into this category) they may tell you tough....

Take your medicine, slow the hell down, and pray your license doesn't get suspended.

you're not going to win if you fight it. double the speed limit in arizona is criminal..don't know where it is where you're at.
