Well, the weekend has been and gone.  Gas stayed around the $1.25 a litre or $3.91 a gallon (U.S.)

We went to Indianna for our long weekend.  The dash computer said I had about 70 kms of fuel left on my tank.  This was sitting in traffic in Sarnia/Port huron border cross.  It kept going down so I shut my car off as much as I could.  Did not want to get stuck in the middle of that big bridge.

Sure enough, crossed the border, took the first exit to get gas and it was cheaper.
Seems to be no trust in the U.S.  Have to pay before you pump.  Must be alot of gas and dash going on.

Had a good trip though.  I set my cruise to 120 kph or 74 mi.  I averaged 7.1 litres per hundred.  Which is pretty good.

I predict gas will really jump this week when the U.S. has their long weekend.

Wow - - - it's hard to  relate to the way you Canadians figure things - - - 7.1 litres per hundred (miles or kilometers?)  How can I relate that to 15 miles per gallon which my gas guzzling B2600i gets?  100/7.1=14.08 miles (or kilometers) per litre or roughly 55 miles (or kilometers) per gallon?  Which is great if it's miles - - - terrible if it's kilometers.  All I know is it cost me $4.31 (American) per gallon today in Northern California.  It sucks.

Yeah.  I kinda wished the info centre allowed one to switch between kms/per 100 to miles per gallon.  But, alas, it does not.  Since we Canadians use kilometers and pay by the litre.  That's I we measure gas mileage.  Used to be easy math when it was a doller a litre.  I could then say.  It cost me $7.10 to drive 100 kms.

Anyways.  It's Memorial Day for our U.S. neibours.  What's the price of gas on this fine Monday.  In the U.S.

Here in Ontario, Canada it's around 1.28 a litre.

It would seem that this year, they have been notching it up in pennies, instead of just jumping the price before the long weekend.  Kind of them to get us use to the new prices.

No public outcry this time around.  Very clever.

1.28 X 3.75 (gallon) = 4.80 - Still cheaper to pump across the boarder it would seem.

129.9 a litre.  I also read somewhere that some thieves are starting to cut fuel lines or drill holes in the bottom of gas tanks to steal fuel from you.  This is mostly happing in the U.S.

Police say they have not seen this type of crime in ahwile.  Something like 1974.

I guess it will only get worse.
