okay so im dont really know anything about offset with rims and what does it have to be with mazda 3 offset
(i do a lot of drives in mountains and high speeds so im looking for rims that can help me handle better plus suspensions )
suggestions?
anything and everything will be highly appreciated

Stock offset I believe is 55mm, I ran 17x7 w/60mm offset no problem (225/45ZR17 tires)

Stock offset is 52 or 52.5 mm with a 6.5 inch rim on the 07-08 models

No matter what the wheel size and width, the stock off-set for the 3 series is +52.5mm. Stay as close as you can to that spec and your handling, braking, ride, steering and overall performance will remain good.
I usually suggest nothing less than +45 for the 3, but stay w/+48-50's if you can.

Offset, not to be confused w/back spacing, is the difference measured in millimeter's between the mating surface of the wheel and the wheel's centerline. RWD vehicles usually have a negative offset, such as -12mm, while FWD vehicles nearly always have a positive offset, i.e. +48mm. A positive offset means that the mating surface of the wheel is pushed further out toward the outer edge of the wheel, drawing more of the wheels width inward (inside the fender well) from the centerline of the wheel.

Offset is constant, no matter the width of the wheel, and is a better way to determine if you've chosen the best wheel.
Wheel backspacing changes with the wheel width for a given off set and so it can cause a lot of confusion. Stay away from backspacing specs and use off set as your guide.
