ok so im new to the mazda scene but ive been working on cars for a while. About 2 weeks ago the altenator on the 626 went out so we had it replaced. ths morning i climbed into the car and it wont even turn over, the solenoid doesnt even click and the battery is 100% because all the gauges work the lights are at full tilt if you turn them on. does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? i even shorted the solenoid on the starter to see if it engages and it spins but not locking up to the flywheel. so what could it be thanks again for any help.

You should check out these possibilities.... Bad ground line on the starter (run a separate ground line to see if the problem goes away), or Bad solenoid on the starter (pull the starter and have it checked.) Most likely you can replace just the solenoid rather than replacing the whole starter.
