Dear Friends:

I am trying to swap a factory Installed Mazda 3 2004 single CD audio Unit with a Mazda 3 2005 CD Changer Unit.

They are identical except the 2004 has two plugs in the back (the wire harness and the power) and the 2005 has three (wire harness, power and a plug on the back of the LCD display).

I did the swap and the radio works but the (as one would guess) LCD screen does not work and the CD will not receive a CD. I assume that has to do with the third plug.

Does anyone know is the problem that CD Changer and single CD units are different (plugs used) or is the problem going from a 2004 to 2005. And is there anyway to make the 2005 CD Changer work in the 2004?
